History of a town
Bodmin Town Museum is situated on Mount Folly about 100 yards from the main car park. It was built in 1892 on the site of the pre-existing old Friary church. Refurbished in 1983, it tells the history of the town from the earliest times until the end of World War II.
The Cornish kitchen, with its scrubbed-top pine table, cooking utensils and black-leaded kitchen range, will take you back in time, while the story of Bodmin during the last war is vividly depicted through archive photographs, relics, uniforms and posters.
Bodmin Town Museum is situated on the lower ground floor of The Public Rooms which are on the site of Bodmin's Franciscan Friary and facing the Shire Hall.
