The NSA is a group of over one hundred professional artists who either live in the South West or have connections with the area. The membership is composed mainly of painters but there are also photographers, printmakers and artists who work in three dimensions using a variety of media including video and performance.
The artists of the NSA work in an area of the country that is rich in artistic history and has an extraordinarily active and vibrant contemporary art scene.
The society's home address is The Newlyn Art Gallery where it has been based since its formation more than a century ago. It is run by a committee elected annually from the membership and administered in collaboration with Newlyn Art Gallery. The current Chairman is Kurt Jackson.
Approaching Newlyn, the gallery is the first building on the sea-side of the coast road from Penzance.
