History of a town
The collective memory of a community and a delightful introduction to a Cornish parish. The St. Agnes Parish Museum offers an opportunity to study in more detail the landscape and the history of St. Agnes. The Museum is run entirely by volunteers and is a registered charity established to promote the heritage of St. Agnes. The mining and seafaring history of St. Agnes are vividly explained in displays and on film. The natural history display includes a 700 pound leatherback turtle which was washed up on Porthtowan beach in 1988. Also on display is a self-portrait by John Opie. Free parking is available in the main car park in the centre of St. Agnes village. Pick up your free colour guide to the Trevaunance Trail and experience Cornwall's Atlantic coast, at its best.
