St. Teath Parish Council

Map

The village is on the B3267 just off the A39 Atlantic Highway approximately three miles south-west of Camelford and seven miles north-east of Wadebridge. The parish population at the 2011 census was 2605.

The parish church is dedicated to Saint Tetha and dates from about 1380. The church is a Grade I protected building consisting of a Norman core and 15th century expansions. It is large, with a nave and two aisles. The church was collegiate until 1545 when the two prebends were abolished. The church was renovated in 1879, re-opening on the 6th November by the Bishop of Truro, Edward Benson. There is a Cornish cross in the cemetery on the other side of the road from the churchyard. St. Tetha’s church served the whole parish until the Church of Saint John the Evangelist was built at nearby Delabole in 1879.

In the heart of the village you will find the unique clock tower, built in 1920 as a war memorial.
