Full of information

Funded by the North Cornwall District Council and the South West Development Agency, Tintagel Visitor Centre was opened in June 1999 and like the Boscastle Visitor Centre houses a wide range of local information specific to that section of the coast and countryside.

Tintagel Visitor Centre

An unusual octagonal design, the Centre is built mainly of wood sourced from environmentally managed forests, with a floor and roof of local Trevillett slate.

Inside is a variety of information in the form of interpretation panels and an audio-visual show. The Centre not only provides information about the legends surrounding the story of King Arthur, but also covers other aspects ranging from nature and geology to archaeology and Celtic connections.

The Centre is also packed full of different guides, books, reference material, maps and all that you need to delve deeper into the legend of Tintagel.

Location

Located in the NCDC Car Park in the centre of Tintagel, the Centre acts as a central information point for visitors to the village and the surrounding area.
