Three days of action packed fun for all the family
The Royal Cornwall has a proud tradition of showing Cornwall at its very best. A great day out (or three!) for young and old with something for everyone. Covering well over two hundred acres, the show in June, on its permanent show-ground (since 1960) near Wadebridge features a wide range of displays and exhibits. The show began in 1793 and consisted of a ploughing match near the Red Lion Inn in Truro. It was then held every year in East and West Cornwall alternately until 1960 when it came to its present site.
The three day show is well attended and there can be traffic queues entering the main car parks, which are plentiful, to the show-ground. The advice is to get there early. There are simply loads of stalls selling fantastic local food and drink for you to sample straight from the suppliers, a chance to see some sheep shearing close at hand, you can browse the many trade stands (over 1,000 of them), listen to live music and the show often gets a visit from a member of the Royal family.
